What people are saying

Home Owner: Larry Sampas Location: Washington D.C.,

“Started on time, finished on time, excellent materials and really good installation. Followed-up to make sure all the valleys were draining well. Moving from Asphalt tile to his metal is saving us over $100/month on air conditioning in the summer. Next step: solar panels — which will be easy to install now.”

I own a small roofing company in Northern Virginia and we have installed 2 to 3 dozen Therma Vent roof systems. At first I was skeptical about how good this product would work. I have been roofing since the early 70’s and I haven’t seen any ventilation systems that really were worth the expense. We decided on the first install to check the attic temps before and after. On our first install the attic was in the 150 degree range on a 95 degree day. My customer called me after we installed the Therma vent system. I told them to call me when the next 95 degree day occurred. They were very excited when they called and told me the attic temp was only 103 at the peak of the roof and 95 at the base. At first I thought we had gotten lucky but roof after roof we had the same results. As I started getting more experience I really started offering this product to every one of my customers. Several things happened I wasn’t expecting. Very quickly my company became the experts in roof ventilation. About half of our customers chose this option which boosted our profits and I began out selling my competition because everyone wanted the best for their roof install. This system only cost about $2 per square foot; this is the installed price we charge a customer when installing the Therma Vent under a metal roof.  The Therma Vent actually saved my customers between 10% and 25% on their cooling costs from what they tell us.  We have installed this system on my Project manager’s home, and on my Foreman’s house and they have seen similar results on saving in their cooling costs.

At first I was a real novice and really didn’t know how to answer all the questions my customers asked me. This is where the Therma Vent folks really helped me. Just by studying their website I learned enough to explain in simple terms how this system works. Now with several dozen installed I am a walking advertisement for this roofing ventilation system. I highly recommend this roofing system and the folks at Therma Vent. I only wish they had offered this product years ago.

Home Owner: Paul D Location: Virginia,

I was the very first house to have the Therma Vent installed. It was an unknown because there was not a lot of info out or tests done to know if the product really worked. My house was a home built in 1993 and it had original windows, insulation, doors, and AC unit. My house was a single level 1200 square foot house. I had the Therma Vent installed with a Standing Seam Metal Roof over it. There was a few things that I noticed right away first was how quite it made that house. Before with our Asphalt Shingle roof we could hear the rain even if it was light rain, so one day I looked outside and saw that rain coming down, but thought it was light rain because I did not hear it at all. The rain was coming down hard so I went outside and it was raining cats and dogs, it was pouring down rain extremely hard. The next thing I noticed was that during the hot summer days the AC unit was able to drop that temperature inside the house very fast. The AC unit ran a lot less. I figured by my Kilowatt hours used that I saved on average 10%-15% per summer on cooling costs. I forgot how much I the system helped until we bought a new two story house with an Asphalt roof on it. We owned our first house for a month once we moved and I came over to do some cleaning and it was a hot day about 95 degrees outside and I had the AC set at 84 degrees. When I came in I set the AC unit to 76. I did some cleaning and about after 15 minutes the AC unit kicked off, and I thought oh no it broke. I went and looked and it was 76 degrees inside the house. It was able to drop the inside temperature in my house from 84 to 76 in 15 minutes while it was 95 degrees outside. I forgot how much the Therma vent system helped. In my house that I had just bought it was two story with asphalt shingles that had a proper ridge vent and soffit vents that worked, but my attic still gets extremely hot in the summer months, in fact it makes my second story bed rooms 3 to 5 degrees or more warmer during the afternoon and evenings. On a contrast it takes an hour or two if I want to drop the temperature in my house from 78 to 76 when it is 95 degrees outside. On a few days it cannot even keep up. I can’t wait to replace my roof and have the Therma Vent installed on my new house. It can’t be installed fast enough.
